Hayley Cessna, a sophomore from Spring Valley, Illinois, has been elected the 2017-18 Upper Iowa University (UIU) Student Government Association (SGA) President. Hayley Cessna, a chemistry major, was recently elected alongside four additional officers at UIU’s Fayette Campus.

Cessna, who plans to attend a physician’s assistant school following her UIU education, is a member of Gamma Delta Phi, Peacocks for Progress, Love Your Melon, Resident Life, Student Senate and Peer Mentors. She is also active in the University’s Csomay Honors and Pre-Professional programs.

“I wanted to run for Student Government President because I enjoyed serving in the same role in high school,” said Cessna, a graduate of Hall High School in Spring Valley. “I also enjoy being involved in Upper Iowa activities and this provides me an opportunity to do even more. As president, I want to try and make a difference by representing all UIU students. I would like to leave an imprint here by making positive changes to the role the SGA president plays at our University.”

Congratulations to Hayley and her parents Bob and Susan!!!!!!!!!!!!!
