Foreign Language Fair - French Club
By Carolyn Neuhalfen
March 10, 2010
For six consecutive years, the Hall foreign language classes have sponsored the foreign language fair. This year, the French students presented displays and booths to represent the culture of Paris—its people, museums, and food.
Hall French students prepared paintings, wall murals, hands-on activities, and hors-d’oeuvres. As the crowds walked into the gym lobby, the people experienced the sights and sounds of the city: violinists, video presentations, a sparkling Eiffel Tower, and sketches of famous people. French foods were also available for free. In particular, ham and cheese hors-d’oeuvres, baguettes, Nutella treats, and Petit Ecolier cookies were sampled by the visitors.
One of the booths presented a video of the recent Easter, 2009 Paris-Rome trip. There are eighteen Hall students planning to visit Paris and Rome again in 2011: Tony Victor, Tyler Thompson, Kyle Elam, Jake Gillan, Dean Colmone, Neil Flanagan, Danny Nolasco, Collin Bezely, Jaclyn Kain, Kelle Nett, Tara Rietman, Kayla Bersztaitas, Jackie Petzel, Chelsea Wallaert, Liz Mosbach, Brigitte Klein, Xuxa Piotrowski, and Paige Hahne.
The entertainment portion of the evening included a ballet by Nikki Rybarczyk, a skit by French IV, and songs by French I and French II students.
