Kendall Rush Named News Tribune Female Athlete of the Year

by Mike Struna

July 09, 2009

Great coaches are innovative.
Great athletes require innovation.

It takes developing new and different techniques to temper the effectiveness of a sport’s finest athletes. Playing the Hall volleyball team this fall required such adjustment. Opponents needed special strategy because of one uniquely talented athlete the Red Devils possessed.
Kendall Rush. Rush, at 5-foot-7 and 120 pounds, is small for a big-hitting volleyball player. But she packs a wallop when she winds up that right arm.

Rush a fourth time this fall required Puck to become inventive.
