Spanish students have recently begun corresponding with a Peace Corps Volunteer (PCV), Nick Halbert, who is currently serving as a health specialist in Nicaragua. We have been exchanging emails with him, and are able to hear about his experiences via his blogspot. The program is sponsored through the Paul D.Coverdell World Wise Schools, an innovative education program of the Peace Corps that engages U.S. students as they interact with the PCV. This experience will enable our students to broaden their perspectives, promote cultural awareness, and appreciate global connections. We hope that our students appreciate those Peace Corps Volunteers who are working hard to have a lasting impact in other countries!
