5th Annual Foreign Language Fair
The Spanish and French classes hosted their Annual Foreign Language Fair on Thursday, March 5, 2009. This event was open to the public, and was well-attended by community members as well as students.
Spanish Club presented "Fiesta Mexicana," which was designed to teach about the culture, customs, and history of Mexico in an entertaining way. Students participated as tour guides, a mariachi band, Mexican Idol, and How to Dance the Cumbia. Other students helped with children's games and breaking a piñata. We sold piñatas and paper flowers that were all student-made.

In the auditorium, some of the girls danced to "Caballero Dorado" and "Baila Esta Cumbia." The Spanish I students sang "La Bamba," and the Spanish II students sang "Cielto Lindo," both of which are very popular Mexican songs.
We hope that everyone who attended the Fair had a very entertaining evening. Next year's Fair will be Thursday, March 4, when we will celebrate Spain!
