Hall retires No. 23 for Klein

Seeing the
jersey she wore for four years as a Hall Lady Red Devil was unusual
for Kailey Klein. Her jersey usually was not as pristine as it
looked under glass in a wood frame Friday.
“I’d only seen that jersey sweaty,” Klein said. “It looked like it
was just perfectly put in that case.”
Klein’s former high school jersey was under glass Friday because
Hall high retired Klein’s jersey. The ceremony was held between the
varsity girls and varsity boys games Friday.
Hall athletic director Gary Vicini read off Klein’s high school
accomplishments. Some of Klein’s accomplishments include being
four-time NewsTribune Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
First-team all-state in 2005-06. She holds Hall’s girls basketball
career scoring and rebounding records with 2,486 points and 1,188
rebounds. Klein has the single-game scoring record with 58 points.
She has the school’s single-season scoring and rebounding
records with 792 points and 277 rebounds.
