SPRING VALLEY LEOS SPONSOR “CASH WAR”TO BENEFIT THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED
Members of the Spring Valley LEO’s club recently held a “cash war” between homerooms to raise money for the visually impaired through Campaign SightFirst II. The total amount raised was $1065.00 in just nine days.
Campaign SightFirst II is a program of Lions Clubs International, long recognized as “the knights of the blind”. The goals of the program are to: control and eliminate the major causes of blindness, combat emerging threats to sight, and provide “Vision for all”.
The winning homeroom was Ms. Maller’s homeroom with a total of $242.19 raised. Homerooms that contributed at least $50.00 are: Mr. Keegan’s ($102.79), Mr. Hanck’s ($94.29), Mrs. Colmone’s ($71.90), Mr. Smith’s ($65.07), Ms. Giffin’s ($59.05), Ms. Sondgeroth’s ($55.46), Office personnel ($51.69), and Mrs. Kozak’s ($51.14).
Ms. Maller’s homeroom will be treated to a pizza and ice cream party after Easter break. Homerooms that raised at least $50.00 will receive desserts.
The LEO’s wish to thank all of the students at Hall for the generosity toward giving the “gift of vision for” all.
