by Becky Piano
July 08, 2008
Students enrolled in Summer School through Hallways To Learning took two field trips this summer. The English classes read about the Cherry Mine Disaster and visited the Cherry library and cemetery. They listened to a historian talk about the disaster and were able to visit the historical cemetery. The next field trip was to Starved Rock State Park to meet Steve Stout, author of the “Starved Rock Murders”. He recounted the events in the book and then took us on the trail of the incident.
Students enrolled in Summer School received credit toward
graduation. Incentives for perfect attendance were $50.00 gift
cards. Those cards were awarded to:
Rachel Miller – Miss Maller/English
Jeremy Stoner – Miss Pini/English
Joey Corsale – Mr. Smith/English
Cladia Avila – Mrs. Daft/Math
Jake Gillan – Mr. /Clanin/Math
Congratulations to all of our students who had a successful summer school experience!!!!!
