Board of Education Meeting Summary
May 21, 2008
Began Meeting: 7:00 p.m. Ended meeting- 9:26 pm
Members Present: John Andes, Jack Boroski, Holly Flanagan,
Sue Nolasco, Dale Pienta and Betsy Sobin.
Members Absent: Todd Fanning
Business Items- Dave Kromphardt, representing the Spring Valley City Bank, presented a check to the Board of Education for $2,037.00 as a result of the Hall Red Devil credit card program which has been administered by the Spring Valley City Bank since 1995.
Action Items- The Board approved changes to the following
board
policies: 6:310 Credit for Alternative Course and
Programs and Course Substitutions, and
6:300- Graduation Requirements. Vote 6 to 0.
The Board approved the In-Service Plan for 2008-
2009 which includes seven early releases for school
improvement planning. Vote 6 to 0.
The Board approved a 2.7% cost of living increase for eligible union staff for the 2008-2009 school year. Vote 6 to 0.
The Board approved Catastrophic Student Accident Insurance for the 2008-2009 school year. Vote 6 to 0.
The Board accepted, with regrets, the resignation of Craig McConville as head golf coach. Vote 6 to 0.
The Board approved the following coaches for the 2008-2009 school year (vote 4 to 2)
