Board of Education Meeting Summary
January 16, 2008

Members Present: John Andes, Jack Boroski, Holly Flanagan, Sue
Nolasco, Dale Pienta,
and Betsy Resetich.Arriving late- Todd Fanning
Informational Items-
Mandatory drug testing of extracurricular participants. The Board
reviewed the first draft policy and directed the superintendent to
investigate expanding the participation pool to include
co-curricular participants.
The Board discussed the Superintendent’s recommendation to schedule a special board meeting, to include faculty and staff, to identify a vision for Hall High School. Members of the board will look at February 16th as a possible meeting date.
The Board heard the Superintendent’s mid-year budget report. With 50% of the fiscal year complete, the district has expended 54% of the budget.
The Board discussed the current practice of non-participation of
cheerleaders at the Seneca and Plano basketball tournaments.
Action Items-
The Board adopted the amended calendar for 2007-2008 to include Casimir Pulaski Day as a school attendance day to make up for the December 11th emergency cancellation day.
The Board approved property and casualty insurance coverage with Cincinnati Insurance Agency.
The Board approved the School Improvement Plan for 2008-2009.
The Board approved seniority lists for both certified and non-certified staff.
