SPRING VALLEY LEO'S PROMOTE READING
Student Book Drive for the Bueau County Jail
by Barb Fulara
September 14, 2007
At the LEO'S regular meeting, members learned that their suggestion to donate books to the Bureau County Jail had been approved by Sheriff John Thompson.
LEO'S are asking Hall High School students to donate books to the Bureau County Jail. Guidelines are as follows:
--Only paperback books are allowed.
--Books may not contain staples, paper clips , tacks or any sharp objects.
--Material must be appropriate. Do not donate books with questionable content or with hand-writing on the pages.
Students wishing to donate books, should bring them to Mrs. Fulara in the school library. Place a post-it note with your name and year of school on the book. This is for record-keeping purposes only. The notes will be removed before any materials are donated.
Students should be aware that all materials will be screened for appropriate content.
This will be an on-going project throughout the school year. Books will be given to the jail on a rotating basis.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Fulara.
